You have probably already heard that linebacker D’Qwell Jackson will be back with the Cleveland Browns, as they have signed him for $42.5 million for five years. This means that the franchise tag is still available. It is unlikely that this franchise tag will be used on Peyton Hillis.

I’m not sure if anyone has experienced as rapid of a rise, or as steep of a fall, as Peyton Hillis. The Cleveland Browns running back has gone from a 2010 season in which he experienced career-best numbers to a tumultuous 2011 season that saw him having a great deal of trouble just getting on the field. Hillis spent the first two years of his career buried on the depth chart at running back with the Denver Broncos.
