Eagles rebound from poor effort, beat Browns

Whether it’s by design or not, the Philadelphia Eagles look boring on offense. It was enough for Michael Vick and Co. to win a preseason game

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns play the third of their four preseason games on Thursday night, when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles. The final score won’t matter nearly as much for the Browns as will their progress in transitioning to a West Coast offense and to a 4-3 defense.

Cleveland Browns P.M. links: All-pro Joe Thomas a…

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have a new head coach and staff, a new offense and defense. They don’t have a new offensive left tackle, and that’s a good thing, because Joe Thomas goes into the 2011 season with a perfect record — four Pro Bowls in four seasons — and in the early stages of what hopefully becomes a long streak — first-team all-pro the last two seasons. Thomas likes what is new about the Browns, too, including the new way they plan to move the football, as Jeff Schudel writes for the News-Herald and Lorain Morning Journal: If the West Coast offense works the way it is supposed to, Thomas and the rest of the offensive line won’t have to hold their blocks as long as they did when McCoy’s predecessors were throwing downfield in the vertical pass offense of the last six years

NFL Trade Rumors: Kevin Kolb To Cleveland? Don’t Count On It

I’m not sure how this rumor got legs underneath it in the first place, but Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer did her part to be the notion to bed when she tweeted that the Cleveland Browns will not pursue a potential trade for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb according to what she’s hearing from a league source. In a telling example of just how starved fans and the media are for the NFL to end the lockout and return to business as usual, the source of the rumor seems to have been Mike Lombardi’s recent comments on the NFL Network concerning potential trade partners for Kolb. “I’m going to go Cleveland [if I'm the Eagles],” Lombardi said.

Are the Cleveland Browns interested in Kolb?

Category: Football, Sport Author : Joshua Lobdell Posted: May 22, 2011 Tags : Cleveland Browns, colt mccoy, Kevin Kolb, nfl, Philadelphia Eagles I really think the NFL lockout is starting to get to the NFL media. Everyday there are rumors about trades and this and that and yet we all know that nothing can happen until June or later after we get the next court ruling. So really a lot of these rumors and stories are just mental masturbation.

With break in labor talks, linebacker Scott Fujita focuses on ’11 Cleveland Browns: NFL Insider

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns linebacker Scott Fujita, an extremely active member of the NFL Players Association before and during the current labor impasse, has a message for fans of the team.  “I really want to be good this year,” Fujita said in a phone interview from his home in Southern California.  Fujita is decompressing from months of labor talks. Aside from being a leader in the players’ effort to reach a bargaining agreement through litigation, Fujita is a leader in the Browns’ locker room.  He is looking forward to the extensive changes the Browns are planning.  “I think they made some good hires, for sure,” he said. “[Coach] Pat Shurmur, I’ve spoken to him on the phone a number of times.
