Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren fired Jim Brown, the team’s executive adviser, in a meeting months ago, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports , and Brown is taking the high road on his dismissal. The franchise maintains that Brown’s role has not changed, except he no longer holds a title. Brown would not confirm details of what happened with the newspaper.

CLEVELAND (AP) — One of the NFL’s greatest ball carriers, Jim Brown has been stripped of his title. The Hall of Fame running back is no longer an official executive adviser for the Cleveland Browns, the team he played for during his entire stellar career.
